Things you should know about your glass-ceramic:

Robax® glass-ceramic can withstand temperatures much higher than other glass types. Tempered glass is generally limited to applications that do not exceed 500º F. However, Robax ® has been engineered to endure temperatures ranging from -400º F to +1400º F.

Despite its superior thermal properties, your Robax ® window should still be treated with the care given to any glass material. It is possible to scratch or break your glass due to mechanical abuse. This can include incorrect installation into your fireplace or stove.

If you are replacing a broken window in your heating appliance, you should determine why the original piece of glass broke. If the door or stove front is warped, then this must be corrected before installing a new piece of glass. Make sure that the channel that receives the glass is clean and free of protrusions that can put uneven pressure on the glass window.

Your replacement piece of Robax ® is supplied with a special window gasket that will make your window sufficiently air-tight. The gasket should completely wrap the edges of the glass. Do not overlap the gasket. First, tighten the mounting frame or clips hand tight to ensure that the frame pressures on the gasket evenly. Then gently tighten the screws. Do not over-tighten! When finished you should be able to move the glass slightly as illustrated below.

Cleaning:

Use only non-caustic, non-abrasive cleaners. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO CLEAN HOT GLASS!
